From the ever vibrant city
center to the concrete jungle of Taipa or the (every time less) quiet
Coloane, many choices are available to find a place to live in Average monthly rental
prices (which rose sharply in the last few years) range from MOP2,500
(remote location, cramped and dark) to MOP25,000 (views, furnished, good
location). A nice flat in a good location will on average cost between
MOP6,000.00 to 15,000.00, depending on whether it is furnished or not.
Check if the rental price already includes management fee (MOP400.00-1,500.00, depending on the quality of the building and the facilities & services available to the tenants).
You will need to pay: - to the landlord: 1 or 2 months advance rental (serving as guarantee and which will be used to cover the final month(s) of your stay (providing you don't damage the property) & the first month rental. - to the real estate agent/ agency: the equivalent to 1 month rental. Don't forget to get receipts for everything, ask for a contract in English and if you feel like, take a Chinese friend with you to read and check if all is well.
